As we celebrate 25 years since opening as Liberty Leasing, we are thrilled to share that we are moving forward as Liberty Finance. From the 8th of June 2026, you will see our new name and logo on our letters, website, socials, and anything that is currently branded as Liberty Leasing Limited.
We’re excited to reintroduce ourselves to the industry at the NACFB Commercial Finance Expo on 10 June, with a new name and look that better reflects the modern Liberty of today.
Here, you’ll learn all about why we’re making this change. If you’re a customer, broker, or supplier looking for clear guidance on what is (and isn’t) changing, please follow the appropriate link below:
Over recent years, we’ve made significant progress at Liberty to deliver a simpler, more modern way of working. Through considerable investment in our systems, people, and processes, we’re now turning around deals faster and writing more business than ever before.
Digital tools such as electronic signature and digital identity verification platforms have long streamlined our application process and the implementation of our bespoke CMS system, Liberty Live, has transformed the way our team manages deals from proposal to pay-out.
The name Liberty Finance also better reflects the nature of our business today, 25 years on. Having started out in 2001 offering leasing, we’ve since broadened our solutions to include hire purchase and refinance, where most of our business is now written.
We continue to offer funding at our own discretion; with the same personal approach we’ve become known for. At Liberty, we assess each deal on a case-by-case basis, considering the bigger picture rather than relying on automated, tick-box lending. It’s this human-led approach that enables us to support the ambitions of customers often overlooked by more conventional lenders.
We’ve long moved beyond being just a leasing company.
Last year, for example, 94% of the business we wrote was hire purchase (including refinancing), 5% was leasing, and the remaining 1% was made up of commercial loans.
It’s time our name reflects this broader offering.

The same employee ownership and culture
While our name and brand are changing, we remain the same Liberty you’ve known for the past 25 years. Our friendly, local team, dedicated leadership, products, service, and family-feel culture all remain unchanged.
We also continue as one of the first and only finance organisations in the UK to operate an Employee Ownership Trust, enabling our staff to participate in and influence the company’s future direction without needing to directly own or buy shares.
While many businesses in our sector are acquired by larger competitors or outside investors, our employee-owned structure allows us to preserve what we’ve built and continue driving the business forward.
We’ve worked hard to create a successful company with a unique culture, built on a passion for our customers and an exceptional team. It’s only fair that everyone shares in the current and future success of Liberty Finance.

Moving forward as Liberty Finance
In 25 years as Liberty Leasing, we advanced over £817m in capital across more than 3,100 customers, working with over 400 introducers, including finance brokerages, dealers, and professional partners across the UK.
As we begin this next chapter as Liberty Finance, we aim to go even further, as we deliver fast turnaround times and a personal approach for businesses and high-net-worth individuals across the UK. Our appetite to lend continues to grow as we expand further into simpler lending, while maintaining our expertise in the more complex customer profiles and asset types for which we’ve become known.
We’re incredibly proud of our journey so far and would like to thank everyone who has played a part in it—from past and present customers, founders, introducers, funders, and suppliers to all past and current employees and friends of Liberty.
We look forward to continuing the journey and building on the success of the last twenty-five years, as Liberty Finance.
